Why
ICSB?
While
researching options for Frozen
semen we looked into a
number of different companies and made the decision that training and
licensing
from ICSB would provide our clients the greatest assurance of quality,
constistancy and reliablity. We are only
successful as a business if our clients experience success with their
breeder
programs and so we chose to become an ICSB facility so that we can
extend to
our customers the wealth of knowledge of research that has gone into
their
frozen semen program over the last 30 years.
International
Canine Semen Bank (ICSB)
was founded by
Professor Carrol C. Platz, Jr. ICSB's program is based on techniques
developed
by Professor Platz.
Through
Professor Platzs' 35 years of research at the University of
Oregon
Medical School, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas A&M
University
and
continuing in the ICSB laboratory, thousands
of puppies have been produced using fresh
frozen canine semen.
ICSB and associates were first in producing litters registered by the
AKC, The
American Field Dog Association and the National Greyhound Association,
and
assisted in developing the guidelines used by these organizations for
registering litters produced from frozen semen. We have produced
litters from
frozen semen that had been stored for 34 years prior to thawing and
insemination at ICSB.
Under Professor Platz's direction, this research continues and provides
the dog
breeder with the most successful program available using fresh, fresh
chilled
and frozen canine semen and artificial insemination using non-surgical
and
surgical procedures.
As time goes by dog breeders will no doubt see canine competitors come
and go,
but rest assured ICSB has the history, experience, long-term commitment
and
support to provide our services to dog breeders worldwide for many
decades to
come.
